Reservations and payments

Updated Oct 30, 2026

How a reservation works

On an event's page the guest chooses a ticket tier (General, VIP or Table for 6), sets the number of guests and sees the total. Clicking Reserve seats takes them to the payment.

The total is always worked out on your server from the event's price, the tier and the number of guests. It never comes from the browser, so it cannot be changed by a visitor.

Taking payments with Stripe

  1. Create a Stripe account, if you don't have one.
  2. In Stripe, copy your publishable key and secret key (use the test keys first).
  3. In WordPress, go to Site manager → Payment settings (also under Settings → Payments) and paste the keys.
  4. Make a test reservation with Stripe's test card 4242 4242 4242 4242, then switch to your live keys.

Guests pay on Stripe's secure page, so card details never touch your site. Each paid reservation is kept under Site manager → Payments, and both the guest and you get an email.

Until keys are added, the checkout runs as a demo and charges nothing.

Guest accounts

The header's Sign in link opens the My account page. There guests can:

  • create an account or sign in,
  • get a new password by email if they forgot theirs,
  • see their own reservations,
  • change their name and password, and sign out.

Once a guest is signed in, the header link reads My account.
